These Terms of Sale & Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the services provided by the Canadian Housecleaning Association (CHCA), a federally incorporated non-profit organization based in British Columbia, Canada. By purchasing any product or service from CHCA, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

  • “Services” refers to all services provided by CHCA, including online community memberships, courses, exams, and business accreditations.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing products or services from CHCA, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not make any purchases.

4. Non-Refundable Purchases

All purchases made through CHCA, including but not limited to online professional community memberships, courses, exams, and business accreditations, are strictly non-refundable. This policy applies under all circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Change of mind
  • Inability to use the services
  • Failure to meet accreditation requirements
  • Failure to pass exams

b. Exam Failures

In the event that you fail any exam provided by CHCA, the fees paid for the exam are non-refundable. You may retake the exam by purchasing a new exam attempt at the applicable fee.

5. Online Professional Community Membership

a. Online Professional Community Membership Levels

CHCA offers different levels of membership, each with specific benefits and access rights. Detailed information about each membership level is available on our website.

b. Online Professional Community Membership Fees

Membership fees are payable at the time of registration and are non-refundable. Memberships are billed on an annual basis unless otherwise specified.

c. Online Professional Community Membership Termination

CHCA reserves the right to terminate your online professional community membership if you violate any terms of these Terms or engage in conduct that is detrimental to CHCA or its online professional community members. In such cases, no refund will be provided.

6. Business Accreditation

a. Accreditation Requirements

To obtain business accreditation from CHCA, you must meet all specified requirements and submit the necessary documentation, including but not limited to:

  • Proof of insurance
  • Proof of workers compensation insurance
  • Business registration proof
  • Latest financial year-end revenue proof
  • Latest three payroll submissions
  • Customer support/service policy description

b. Accreditation Fees

Accreditation fees are payable at the time of application and are non-refundable. If you fail to meet the accreditation requirements, no refund will be provided.

7. Courses and Exams

a. Course Enrollment

By enrolling in a course provided by CHCA, you agree to pay the applicable course fees. Course fees are non-refundable, regardless of whether you complete the course.

b. Exam Attempts

Exam fees are payable at the time of registration and are non-refundable. If you fail an exam, you must pay the applicable fee to retake the exam.

8. Payment Terms

a. Payment Methods

CHCA accepts payment through various methods, including credit card. All payments must be made in Canadian dollars (CAD).

b. Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment processors. By providing your payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your chosen payment method.

9. User Conduct

a. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • Using our services for any unlawful purpose
  • Violating any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringing upon the rights of others
  • Disrupting or interfering with the security or functionality of our services

b. Termination for Misconduct

CHCA reserves the right to terminate your access to our services if you engage in any prohibited activities. In such cases, no refund will be provided.

10. Intellectual Property

All content provided by CHCA, including but not limited to courses, exams, and website content, is the property of CHCA and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

b. Limited License

CHCA grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the content for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the content without our express written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

CHCA provides its services on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of our services.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CHCA, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of our services or your violation of these Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
